The “Ho Chi Minh City Golden Brand” award is an annual award, starting from 2020, organized by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and assigned to the Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Saigon Economic Review.
The goal of the award is to honor local businesses that have made great efforts and success in building product brands; raising awareness of enterprises about the role and importance of brand building and development associated with developing the competitiveness of enterprises.
Through this award, Ho Chi Minh City wants to create a motivation to encourage businesses to actively innovate, create and develop sustainably, contributing to improving the competitive advantage of the city’s business brand in the domestic and international markets. economic.
Expecting to have “net gold” after the pandemic
According to Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, this year’s awards are held in a very special context. Over the past four months, like the people of the city, about 400,000 businesses in Ho Chi Minh City have also faced difficulties because of the fourth Covid-19 outbreak. However, many places still maintain production, contributing to the city’s production and service supply chain not being interrupted.

“It is a great recognition, showing that despite difficulties, businesses still strive to survive and develop,” he said at the award ceremony at the headquarters of the Saigon Economic Review last Thursday. .
The head of Ho Chi Minh City’s industry and trade industry said that the development of brands and products is not only the business’s business but also the responsibility of the government and related agencies. “Thirty businesses with product and service brands that were awarded the Golden Brand Award of Ho Chi Minh City in the past year had difficulties because of the pandemic but still had their own vitality and made important contributions to the city,” he said.
Support for businesses after the epidemic
According to Mr. Vu, businesses are facing difficulties in capital, human resources, market and facing some increased costs in epidemic prevention and control. To support businesses, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City will strengthen the provision of information on business opportunities; publicize, simplify administrative procedures, speed up the implementation of online procedures; strengthen connections with banks for businesses to access preferential loans.
In addition, with trade promotion activities, from now until the end of the year, the Department will promote activities using the state budget, reducing costs for businesses.
“Yesterday, the Department and the State Bank signed a contract for businesses to access low-cost capital. 15,000 billion VND has been signed. From now until the end of the year, we set a target of VND 70,000 billion,” said Mr. Vu, adding that the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has also directed districts to act as a bridge for banks and businesses to meet.
For businesses that have won the Golden Brand Award, the support is also a series of activities throughout to help businesses promote their brands and products, share management experiences, connect supply and demand, find capital and business opportunities.
“Last year, throughout the domestic and foreign trade promotion programs, the Golden Brand enterprises were the first and foremost introduced group because this group had a guarantee of quality, prestige and was a pride of the city,” said Mr. Vu.
How to choose a gold brand?
According to Mr. Tran Minh Hung, Editor-in-Chief of Saigon Economic Review, Chairman of the Voting Council, this award is held annually to review and vote for businesses whose products meet the following criteria: quality, Good products and services, high added value, are trusted by consumers, making a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City.
Participants are brands of products or product groups formed and owned by enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, with headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City.
Trademark registration enterprises participating in the vote must comply with all provisions of the law in production and business, not infringe on copyright and commercial fraud.
“This means that when these trademarks are engraved, consumers can immediately recognize, visualize or associate them as products of Ho Chi Minh City,” said Mr. participate in voting for a product or product group.
After the business registers, the voting board will review and screen the initial profile to publish the qualified brands on the award’s website for consumers to score. This score will be an important part of the score structure that the Voting Council considers and selects worthy brands.
